Locmariaquer, Brittany

Not far south of Carnac is the neolithic complex at Locmariaquer, which includes a passage grave, a dolmen and a tumulus. This piece of menhir lying on it's side is part of the Broken Menhir of Er Grah. The four broken pieces would have measured over 20m and weighed in at 280 tons making it a true giant amongst the megaliths.

Behind the menhir is the large dolmen called 'Table des Marchand'. The picture is from a visit made in 2002.
