Scorhill, Devon

First destination the next morning, which involved a good hike from the road, was Gidleigh Common on Dartmoor and the Scorhill stone circle. Located on the northeast of the moors, this is one of the largest of the many circles to be found in Devon.

The twenty-three stones still standing here range in height from 0.85m to 2.25m whilst another eleven have fallen. The circle has a diameter of about 27m.
