For the final visit of the day I took the road past the Cloonee Loughs towards the shore of Lough Inchiquin and the stone circle and standing stone at Uragh.
From a ridge above the stones and looking to the south can be seen Uragh Wood at the foot of the Cara Mountains.
The outlying megalith is less than a metre from the circle and at 3.1m towers over the other stones.
The stone circle is orientated southwest to northeast and has a diameter of about 2.5m.
The stones here in this beautiful part of Kerry make this a site that should be very high on the list of anybody interested in megaliths, and for me a great place to finish off the day's megalith tour before returning home.
