Grey Wethers, Devon

Continuing through the forest and onto the open moors below Sittaford Tor brought me to the twin stone circles known as Grey Wethers. Both circles were 'restored' just over one hundred years ago.

The southern circle is the larger of the two with twenty-nine stones and a diameter of about 33m with slightly taller stones than the northern circle. All the stones in the two circles range in height from approximately 1m to 1.4m.

The northern circle consists of twenty stones with a diameter a touch smaller than the southern circle.

Definitely worth the walk from Fernworthy reservoir if you're ever in the area.
