The next stop of the day was just north of Eyeries and near to Ballycrovane, at a site known as Faunkill and the Woods, where there is another standing stone, which stands proud on a rocky outcrop as one approaches from the north. This megalith is actually an Ogham stone, and the faintest of markings can indeed be seen on the stone.
You're never too far away from water on the Beara Peninsula, and in this picture the outstanding view is across Coulagh Bay towards Eagle Hill.
At 4.7m in height I think this is probably the tallest standing stone I've seen in Ireland so far.
