Coolcoulaghta, Co Cork

Last Sunday I spent a few hours visiting a few more sites in West Cork, heading first for the Mizen Peninsula to Dunbeacon, the most southwestern of Ireland's stone circles. Before reaching the circle itself, I saw this stone pair in a field at Coolcoulaghta. The stones are aligned with the circle which can just be seen on a hill to the west. The taller of the pair stands at about about 4m.

Pass through Durrus towards Crookhaven and take a left after passing Mount Corrin. Follow the road until you see a sign for standing stones. The stones are in a field to the left.
